23:27 The 10th of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement for you. It is a sacred holiday when you must fast and bring a fire offering to God.
Ach be'asor lachodesh hashevi'i hazeh Yom haKipurim hu mikra-kodesh yihyeh lachem ve'initem et-nafshoteychem vehikravtem isheh l'Adonay.
23:28 Do not do any work on this day; it is a day of atonement, when you gain atonement before God your Lord.
Vechol-melachah lo-ta'asu be'etsem hayom hazeh ki Yom Kipurim hu lechaper aleychem lifney Adonay Eloheychem.

Commentary:

seventh month
  Tishrei.

Day of Atonement
Yom HaKippurim in Hebrew. Usually abbreviated to Yom Kippur.

fast
  See Leviticus 16:29.

fire offering...
  See Numbers 29:7-11.

work
See Leviticus 16:29. Here the Torah says 'work,' rather than 'service work,' because on Yom Kippur, it is forbidden to do work to prepare food, just as it is on the Sabbath. See comment on Leviticus 23:7.
