46:1 Israel began the journey, taking all his possessions, and he arrived in Beer-sheba. He offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
Vayisa Yisra'el vechol-asher-lo vayavo Be'erah Shava vayizbach zevachim l'Elohey aviv Yitschak.
46:2 God spoke to Israel in a night vision, and said, 'Jacob! Jacob!'

'Yes,' replied [Jacob].
Vayomer Elohim le-Yisra'el bemar'ot halaylah vayomer Ya'akov Ya'akov vayomer hineni.

46:3 [God] said, 'I am the Omnipotent God of your father. Do not be afraid to go to Egypt, for it is there that I will make you into a great nation.
Vayomer anochi ha'El Elohey avicha al-tira merdah Mitsraymah ki-legoy gadol asimcha sham.



Commentary:

Beer-sheba
  South of Hebron where Jacob lived (Yov'loth 44:1), and hence, on the way to Egypt.

Omnipotent
