1:1	After the death of God's servant Moses, God spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant: Vayehi acharey mot Moshe eved Adonay vayomer Adonay el-Yehoshua bin-Nun mesharet Moshe lemor.
1:2	Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, pass over this Jordan, you, and this entire nation, to the land which I am giving to them, to the children of Israel. Moshe avdi met ve'atah kum avor et-haYarden hazeh atah vechol-ha'am hazeh el-ha'arets asher anochi noten lahem livney Yisra'el.
